My goals are to put more effort in my reading because I keep on missing out words.  My next goal is to write neater because it looks really messy.  My third goal is to get all of my work done because

At camp my favourite thing was kayaking.  I fell twice as I haven't been in a kayak before.  It was FUN.  I didn't stay in the kayak because my head hurt.

CAMP 2013

On a lovely Tuesday morning, room four went in groups and drove off in some cars that some generous people drove.  We were all SO hyper and couldn't wait to get to Quinney's bush.  It was SO awesome getting there and sitting in our own tents with some mates.  I shared my tent with Emma, as she is a lovely friend of mine. Mr B said that we could have free time after we all put our tents up, and me and Emma immediately raced over to the tyre swing and took turns pushing each other on it.

  We all gaped at the water slide and just couldn't wait to get on it and whizz down.  When I did get on it I knew straight away that it would be my favourite part.  To feel your hair lifting off your shoulders and water being sprayed all over your face was magnificent.

 I couldn't wait until spotlight at night as that was my second favourite thing. 

HOW TO PLAY SPOTLIGHT:

1 Two parents stand at a base

2 You try to touch the base without the parents seeing you

3 The parents only have a torch
4 You win!!

The next few days was awesome and I'll mention some of the activeties.... the water slot (the water slide, swimming in the river, and kyaking and raft making), and the flying fox and also the obstacle course.   I had soo much fun and I'd like to thank Mr B and all the parents who helped us.

BOOK WEEK

Every year Parkland's school has a book week.  Book week is to inspire kids to read.
During the week, we have D.E.A.R  ( drop everything and read),  other teachers coming in after lunch to read to us and we had a Roald Dahl quiz and I did quite well.  On Friday, we had the parade. The parade is for advertising our school.  I dressed up as Hermione Granger from the novel 'Harry Potter'.  My sister dressed up as Harry Potter and my friend Emma dressed up as 'the cat in the pjamas' . Oh yes, I almost forgot,  this boy called Jason said he would be dressed up as a fairy.  At first I thought it was just one of his jokes, but amazingly he actually did!  We had a funny, amusing and great day!!!!

PABLO PICASSO

This term, Parkland's school has been focusing on our term topic,  I am an Artist.  Being an artist isn't just about painting and drawings, but also acting, singing, and playing music.

Room 4 has been studying artists, like Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Sarah Greenwood and of course the man I've been studying, Pablo Picasso.  Pablo Picasso is mostly know for his cubism.  Cubism is a way of painting, using cubes and shapes.  He used cubism a lot, he used it for his famous painting the musicians.  He had the rose period, and the blue period.  Periods are when the artist has a period of time where the artist has a liking of a type of painting, and uses it for a period of time.  Pablo always said "art is a lie that makes us realise the truth."

My name is Alexa and I love to help others. I think I'm pretty good at maths.  One thing I know that I need to improve on is times tables. 

Sometimes I can have a laugh and I can be serious. I love the colours purple, green and blue. I think I need to improve on being a neater at writing. I absolutely hate fitness becuase I am very bad at it, especially running. But I love netball. I think I am a great at swimming I am the best at breast stroke and  freestyle than anything else. I need to inprove on my butterfly and backstroke. I love to dive and bomb. Art is so much fun I love to paint, draw and create.   

MY FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT CAMP

Well I don't  really have a favourite thing about camp but I did like the waterslide, flying fox, river, rafts,   hamics, burgars, bivouacs, and lots of other things. What I meant by I dont have a favourite its becuase I liked every thing we did the best. Thanks Mrb so much for tacking as to camp I had a great time and I learnt alot about the oldern days and gold.

In room four we studied lots of different artists. I studied Vermeer who was born in 1632 and died in 1675. In 2004 one of his paintings sold for $42 million dollars. He used lots of deep colours.

Hello!!  My name is Duan.   

ME AND MY GOALS 2013!

My goals for 2013 are to improve at writing, my tables, being neat when writing and taking off my hat in class.  I really like science and maths because some of the questions are a challange but most of it is easy.  

ROOM  CAMP 2013

On Tuesday 12th of March, I woke up to my demonic sister poking me in the ribs, so I told her to beep off and with that I got out of bed, ate breakfast and got ready for school/camp!  

When we arrived the senior area was swarming with people, they almost looked like worker bees in human form.  I got all of my camp stuff and put it on Mr Inch's trailer, then I went inside the class to  play with my lego just as the bell rang so I put it where I often put it, by the computer and radio, then I sat at my desk with a book.  Mr B said some stuff and then we organized our cars and groups.  It took forever to do and finally they said my name with Jason, Daniel and Mr B in Jason's Inch's car.  We walked over to the car and jason said: nice ride!

PLUTO   the dwarf planet

Pluto is a dwarf planet, Pluto's closest neibour is Charon.  Charon is 22,000,00 km from Pluto, Charon is Pluto's moon and also a dwarf planet.  One day on Pluto is 224 earth days.  The distance from  pluto to the sun is 5,900,000,000 km.   Pluto is thought to be a moon from neptune that went out of orbit and took an orbit of its own.  The diameter of the equator is 51,118 km.  At a certain time of the year, Pluto cross's path with neptune so that Neptune is the furtherest planet away.  The temperature on Pluto is minus 230'C.  Pluto is awesome!

Book Week

On Friday, 19th of May 2013

On Friday we had book week.  Book week is about inspiring kids and having fun with the parade.  My job was taking photos for Mr Bailey, I think I took over 102 photos for him.  I wore a karate uniform from Sensi Richmonds class's.  I am an advanced blue belt.  First thing I did was take photos of the classrooms and their costumes. gorjiug

ARTIST PROJECT

My artist project is Leonardo da vinci.  He is famous for discovery, painting, mathematics, architecture
and a whole lot of other stuff.   He was born in April 1454 and died in May 2 1519.  His genius was in mathematics.  He liked to find out how things worked like the human body and lightning.  Leonardo's first job was at the duke of the city of milan.  His paintings are worth million's of us dollars. QUINNEY'S BUSH CAMP 2013                                                        

On Tuesday th12 of March Room four went on camp to Friday.   We set up the tent and then we did orienteering at one oclock. We went to the river and swam. The river was good and warm.  After the swim we did the waterslide I had about three or four goes and then did the flying fox which was awesome and then we played T-ball. I said that Astin my cousin should have come  because he plays it as sport.                                                                                                                                                
                                         

WHY WE GO TO CAMP    

                      

Because Mr B puts up his time to take us on camp and because we work good so he takes us and to learn about people and friends.

Climate and habitability

AWESOME CAMP

I have been tired lately because of our big trip to Quinneys Bush. My mum came along to camp with me. I think she had more fun than I did! On the last day me and Emma went down the water slide without a board. First we went down back to back and then we went down on our stomachs with one arm out in front and one arm linked over each others shoulders. I got my mum wet and so did Emma. The red spinning thing was quite fun too. It was a person powered spinning machine! Half the time I refused to push it! If I wrote everything i would be here for months so lets just say camp was sooooooooo fantastic!

( drop every thing and read ) Roald Dahl quiz and every day we had a teacher come and read a story to us. At the end of the week we hat a huge parade around the town. I came as Creepella Von Craklefur LOL. Mr B thought it was a tounge twister. Nobody knew who i was and not because the of me as the character...







Marc Chagall

Hello it is almost the end of term 3 and room 4 has been learning about famous artists. My famous artist I was learning about was Mark Chagall. Here are 5 facts about him.
1. Marc Chagall was friends with Pablo Picasso
2. Marc Chagall was born in Belarus 1887 and lived until the age of 97.
3. Marc Chagalls father worked in a fish factory.
4. Marc Chagalls mother worked in a shop where backing supplies and fish were sold.
5. Marc Chagalls real name was Moishe Seagal
Also they way Marc painted was using lots of difrent swirls and patterns which is called impressioning.
Some of Marcs paintings  you cant really understand because of all the detail in his painting. Here is a picture of his painting.
